A house with no roof

Just exactly how dry is Arica?

The proprietor of the residential where I’m staying built a house with no roof, and all the rooms receive natural sun light everyday. It just doesn’t rain here! In the old days, water was dispensed through trucks. Today, even with modern conveniences, water is 30 times the price in Santiago!

Still, global weather changes have not spared this city: during winter, it is now colder than it used to be, and occasionally, even this sunny city can be cloudy too.

But my nose and throat are bleeding. Even all the vaseline in the world can’t prevent that.
