The tour of Elizabeth Bay was done solely on the dinghy. Saw mangrove swamps with sea turtles, nesting flightless commorants, Galapagos penguins, whale (!), feeding blue footed boobies, pelicans, sea lions sleeping on mangrove roots, against the resolute background of an active volcano.
The afternoon tour at Punta Moreno is also solely done on the dinghy. Saw marine iguanas sun-bathing as well as swimming in the sea, more feeding blue-footed boobies and Galapagos penguins launching off into the clear waters.
Thereafter, bidded farewell to Volcan Cerro Azul with a glass of cocktail in my hand from a nice gentleman.
As the catamaran cruised on the sea, the warm glow of the setting sun enveloped me and with Beyond’s ultimate rock song on mp3, I can’t help but think how far off this is from my city life. Hopefully when I return to the urban jungle, I will always remember this moment: on choppy seas, at the mercy of mother nature, with Cerro Azul in the background, right here amongst the islands that I have dreamt of for years.
